This current Change Log, Version 429v2, introduces a number of improvements, designed to save time and improve ease of use.

Message Details – Change in design of Toolbar

 

Actions on messages are now buttons (before they were accessible as menus). Hovering over a button provides a description of the action available together with the alternative shortcut where applicable.

 

 

New action for Messages – “Share With”

 

A new action has been added that enables a user to share a message received in a mailbox with a user who does not have visibility in that mailbox.

 

With this action the shared message retains all the original information from the Sender. To share a message the user clicks on the highlighted button and selects the mailbox(es) with which to share the message. A message can be shared with other public mailboxes to which the user has visibility.

 

 

Discussion Button – now hidden on Private Mailboxes

 

As Private Mailboxes are only accessible by one user the “Discussions” button has now been removed.

 

 

 

Default View of Details

 

In each of the detail screens (e.g. for Vessel details) the default view is now as a list (1 below). This can be changed to the form view (2 below) by clicking on the read mode (highlighted in red below).

 

 

Quick Search – using the IMO number to search for Ships

 

The Quick Search function has been updated to search for vessels using the IMO number, providing the following functionality:

 

1. Search by IMO number, 7-digits e.g. 9855632
2. Combined search using YOB, DWT (2014,52500)
3. Text search for the Vessel’s name

 

 

Message Editor – new colours for Highlighting

 

A new colour palette has been added to the message editor for highlighting

 

Required Fields – now indicated by an asterisk

 

Required fields are now marked with an asterisk (previously by a red dot)

 

 

Resend Option – expanded for all users of a mailbox

 

The existing “Resend” option has been made available to all users of a specific mailbox. Previously only the original sender could resend an email.

 

Repair Enquiries – new module

 

A new module to handle Repair Enquiries has been added which includes the following:

 

1. Messages
2. Notes
3. Files
4. Invoices

 

 

Message Relations – Repairs

 

The Message Details panel has been updated to include the option to relate Repair Enquiries.

 

Message Relations – Ships now display the IMO number

 

The “Ships” relation field on messages has been modified to display the IMO number of vessels:

Cargo Orders – new module

 

A new module for Cargo Orders has been added which includes the following:

 

1. Search form
2. Results in Grid format.
3. Details form.
4. Source message tab

 

Quick Add – new action to add a Cargo Order

 

The Quick Add function has been updated to include Cargo Orders.

Fixtures – new search field for “Ex-Name”

 

A new field for the Vessel’s ex-Name has been added to the Fixtures search form.

 

 

 

Open Positions – new tab “Maps”

 

A new tab has been added to the module Positions so that users can see the current location of a Ship. First, the vessel is selected from the grid (ticked) and then by clicking on the “Show positions” button on the “Maps” tab there is loaded the ship’s current position on the map. There is also an option to re-center or to open the map in full screen mode.

Vessels – new tab for Updates

 

A new “Updates” tab has been added to the Ships module that allows users to see any changes that have taken place with regard to the selected vessel. It includes and displays changes made either by users or via IHS updates.

 

Insert new Sale/Valuation window

 

The titles on the fields have been updated from:

 

♦  Sale Date to Event Date
♦  Sale Type to Event Type
♦  Sold As to Ship Name

For the Valuation events, the field name has been updated to “Valuated As”:

 

Advices Tab – changes to the User Interface

 

The ellipsis button has now been removed and further actions are accessed by right clicking on an advice listed under the “Advices” tab.

 

 

 

Vessels – new fields

 

The following fields have been added for the Platform/Jackup vessels:

 

1. Legs
2. Leg length
3. Leg payload

 

Commercial History – new search criteria “Country of Build” and “Yard”

 

The fields “Country of Build” and “Yard” have been added to the Search form.

 

 

Ships List – Ownership fields opening in a separate window

 

Users can open the Ownership fields (Beneficial owner, Manager, Operator etc.) in a new window while navigating Ship lists. To do so the user can either use (a) Ctrl+ Left click on the record in the grid or (b) use a single left click on the field “Beneficial” in the Ship Details area.

 

 

Ships – “Edit Ship” window re-design

 

The “Edit Ship” window has been redesigned with the information now split into tabs:

 

 

Received From tab – new column “Position”

 

A new column for the “Source Position” has been created under the tab “Received From” to indicate the relationship between the source of the message and the Ship owner (e.g. Direct, Exclusive etc.)

 

 

Ships –  “Market” tab – increase in sale period displayed

 

The “Market” tab now displays sales information for past two years (previously twelve months).

 

 

Vessels Sold or Demolished – clearing of information

 

When a vessel is sold or demolished, i.e. the Sale Status is recorded as Sold or Demolition, the following fields are cleared as the ownership has changed:

 

1. Confidential
2. Committed
3. Our position
4. Assigned to

 

Fields 3 and 4 will be removed in a later version of CompassAir as this information has been transferred to the new Address Book module.

 

 

Vessels – new tab “Aux Engines”

 

This tab has been added to enable the editing of auxiliary engines of a vessel.

 

Vessels – new tab “Pumps”

 

This tab has been added to enable the editing of the pumps of a vessel.

 

 

Vessels – new tab “Lifting Gear”

 

This tab has been added to enable the editing of the lifting gear of a vessel.

 

 

Vessels – new tab “Generators”

 

This tab has been added to enable the editing of the generator details of a vessel.

 

 

Vessels – new field “Confidential”

 

This tab has been added to both the search criteria and the Ship results grid columns.

 

 

Vessels – new fields available to edit: “Hatch Covers”, “Holds” and “Hatches”

 

The fields Hatch Covers, Holds and Hatches have been added to the Edit Vessel Window.

 

 

Commercial History – new field in search criteria “Comments”

 

The fields “Comments” has been added to the search criteria.
