Overview
This current Change Log, Version 379v2, introduces a number of improvements, designed to save time and improve ease of use.
New Features
Messages – New Functionalities for Sent Messages
For sent messages the following additional options have been added:
• Resend – the editor opens a previously sent message with the same recipient list for resending. An example of its use would be to send a reminder
• Duplicate – the editor opens a previously sent message, this time with a blank recipient list. The message can be edited and recipients added. An example of its use would be to forward an advice to a client after editing the original message.
This second feature is also available for incoming messages.
SnP Module: Ships – new tab: “Commitment”
A new feature, “Commitments”, has been added in the Ships Module. To add a Commitment, navigate to the “Commitments” tab for the vessel in question. Tapping the “Insert Commitment” button will open a new window.
There are two types of Commitment, the first being “given to”, where for example a broker acting for a potential buyer will ask for more detailed information from the seller’s broker. In the example above the broker John Smithson (the potential buyer’s broker) has given a Commitment to Lyndale Shipbrokers (the seller’s broker) for three months (the default time period, although this can be edited).
When the Commitment is saved and the vessel screen refreshed details of the Commitment will be displayed as below.
A second example would be where a broker acting on behalf of a seller receives a request for more information from a broker acting for a potential purchaser – the latter is giving the former a Commitment. This time the seller’s broker records the Commitment by selecting from the drop down menu “received from”, entering details as before.
Under this scenario we might expect the seller’s broker to receive and record more than one such (received) Commitment for the same vessel and the Commitment field will this time remain blank as seen below.
SnP Module: Ships – Price: new field added “Indication”
A new field has been added “Indication” when entering price details. The field can be used to give more information when an exact price is unknown. The same field is also available when inserting sale details under the ship’s History tab.
SnP Module: Ships – new search field added “Coating”
When searching for a ship a new field has been added “Coating”.
SnP Module: Ships – new columns added Age and Beneficial Owner’s country
New columns have been added under Ships:
• “Age” displaying the vessel age without needing to calculate from the year of build
• “Beneficial Country” showing the country of the vessel’s Beneficial Owner
SnP Module: Ships – opening contact details from a Ship’s messages tab
A Contact’s details can be opened from a Ship’s Messages tab. This is achieved by clicking on the relevant message on the Messages tab. Right clicking on the contact displayed in the message preview will reveal a “Show Details” option. The contact details can then either be copied or the contact can be opened in a new window.
Fixtures – Freight & Commission: new fields added
Under Fixtures, new Freight & Commission fields have been added as follows:
• Address Commission – the field is a numeric percentage
• Load Discharge Rate (L/D Rate) – a free text field
Fixtures – Desk added automatically
When creating a fixture and the user defines the Responsible Broker, the Desk field is automatically completed with the Responsible Broker’s primary Department/Desk.
